The practice is made up of Principal Dominick Comerford and Dragana Furlan
Dom is a Registered Architect, Landscape Architect, Building Contract Consultant and Chartered Arbitrator. He has a Masters in Landscape Architecture from UCD and post-graduate higher diplomas from Trinity College Dublin in Project Management, Construction Law and Contract Administration.
Dom is also a Design Fellow at UCD School of Landscape Architecture and examiner for Professional Practice Diploma in Architecture UCD , ILI Council Member, ILI Professional Practice & Awards Committee member, and Eirgrid National Advisory Committee member.
While each project generates a fresh approach tailored specifically for the individual client, Dom's designs are driven by a desire to make spaces and places that work and flow together, feel good and are filled with natural light, warmth and fresh air. There is a strong emphasis on access both direct and visual to the often neglected external spaces.
Dragana is a Serbian Architect joining the practice in 2019. Her primary passions are sustainable and Eco Architecture and she also has a Master Degree Urban Planning .
Our priority is to work hand in hand with clients and communities to achieve the best design possible, from the first sketches to the final task on site.
Together we specialise not only in designing a building that will bring delight but also that in its execution will be energy efficient and comfortable. We apply passive house principles to all projects as much as possible, to ensure comfort and cost effectiveness in the long term. We want to make spaces and places that work, feel good, are filled with natural light, warmth and fresh air with a strong emphasis on the often neglected external spaces
We generally like to design in a contemporary style when the opportunity arises but our main focus is client satisfaction and to deliver a project on time and within budget. We will design and propose what we feel best suits the project within the terms of the brief. We may also propose ideas beyond the brief if we feel that it is worth considering in terms of the overall best use of the house / site all within the scope of our service.
The vast majority of our projects originate through recommendations and repeat commissions from our existing clients, contractors and consultants which is testament to our core ethos of lifetime client satisfaction.
We are currently achieving B1-A2 BER ratings on Refurbishment / Extension projects and have won a number of awards from the ILI in Design, Landscape Planning Research, Green Infrastructure and Drawing skills.
